Week 5

This week in maths we have been learning about capacity. We have been busy measuring the space inside of boxes and containers. We measured how many scoops of rice it took to fill containers and how many blocks could fit inside boxes.

The Great Fish Tank Experiment!

Yesterday we filled a fish tank. First we guessed. I guessed 7 litres. Next we started. After that we had another guess. I guessed 10. Finally we got 12 and a half of total of the fish tank. I liked filling the fish tank.
Joel

On Thursday we had a fish tank experiment. We had to fill a fish tank with water. We all had a turn of putting some water in. The bucket was 1 litre. Ruby thought we were doing science.
Roger

On Thursday in maths the class needed to fill a fish tank with green food dye water. But first we had to guess how many litres filled the fish tank. And the answer was twelve and a half.
Megan

On Thursday we filled the fish tank and everybody got a turn. I felt very excited because it was very fun. My first guess was 6 and my second guess was 8 and the correct answer was 12 and a half.
Chloe

Yesterday we filled up a fish tank with a measuring bottle. We used water with green dye. I guessed ten litres but I guessed wrong. But the right answers was 12 and a half.
Abigail

Lego Land

Students in Blue Group each read a chapter book this week. Some chose to make a scene from their book out of lego.

Jen read 17 Submarine St and made a beach because the street was near the beach.

Andrew read Cricket Legend and made a dog chasing a ball.

Ruby read Fruit Salad Solution and made a basketball court.

Joel read Cricket Legend and made a cricket pitch.
