Storywriting

Last week we read a story about a toy gorilla that came alive in the middle of the night. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to write our own stories.

Last night something amazing happened. I woke up and saw my Lego police truck came alive. I said "Yikes!" But then I calmed down, hopped in and it drove me to the movies. We saw Up. After it went to the beach. I said "I'm hungry now". It drove me to McDonald's. Finally we went home. I woke up. I said "Truck?" Then I shouted "Truck!" But then I noticed it was all a dream.

Last night something amazing happened. I woke up and saw my toy kangaroo alive. He was noisy all night. I couldn't go to sleep. He felt soft and fluffy and cuddly. In the morning it was quiet.

Last night something amazing happened. I woke up and saw a giant pink teddy. We went to the park together. And at the park we had a picnic. And it was so much fun. Then we went to the shop. Then we looked around. We felt happy. Then we went home and it turned back into a real toy.

Woodwork

Woodwork Incursion
On Wednesday afternoon P/1K and 1 O went to woodwork. We hadn't been there before, so we thought it was going to be exciting. It was. Very. The Preps were there before us, so we had to wait a little. Then we went in and sat on the floor. The teacher gave us all a pencil, a triangular piece of wood, and a rectangular piece of wood. We traced the triangle shape onto the rectangle right there, on the floor. Then we made a snake line at the front of the room and gave the teacher our blue triangles and got a piece of sandpaper. Then we went to our desks with a partner and sanded the edges. Then we all got a saw and sawed off the wings. After that, as usual, we sanded them (and, of course, the body of the plane.) Then we traced where the wings went on the plane with our pencil. After that, we got some glue and stuck the wings and the tail on the plane. Then we had to take it back to our desk and hold it down for twenty seconds. Eventually we let it go and we got a sticker. I liked going to Woodwork and had lots of fun.
